A Northern Irish man convicted of defrauding 45 people out of £4m worth of deposits for property in Turkey has expresssed “sorrow, regret and remorse” for his actions but claims he was the victim of fraud himself, at the hands of his Turkish business partner.

From the Belfast Telegraph:

“…oil and coal merchant O’Kane, from the Ballyneese Road in Portglenone, Co Antrim, pleaded guilty to a total of 126 counts of obtaining money or property by deception and a further two charges of fraud by false representation on various dates between August 8, 2005 and April 13, 2007.”
